Classes are being taught by Grady College faculty, staff and graduate students. Working as a team, Academy students will produce The Pulse, a 12-page newspaper written, designed and edited by the students, and a broadcast news show written and produced by the students.

In the evenings during the week, students have a chance to socialize by bowling, dancing and having a picnic at Lake Herrick. Counselors made popcorn and cotton candy on Monday for the students to watch Shattered Glass, a 2003 film about Stephen Glass, a journalist who fabricated 27 out of 41 stories he wrote for The New Republic, Rolling Stone Magazine, Harper's Bazaar and George.
